He also does not make a big LBO action more than three years. All this because of the closure of high-yielding bonds and the collapse of Drexel Burnham Lambert in February 1990. Six KKR’s portfolio companies successfully offering to exchange shares or initial public offering (IPO) in 1991.
Two of the six companies that are RJR Nobisco and Duracell. In 1994, Kravis KKR began to reduce ownership in RJR. Most people are familiar with the scourge of identity theft – fastest growing crime in America in each of the last 5 years, and 11 million victims last year alone. The problem is that most victims don’t know they’re victims – as many as 9 of 10 people who are impacted don’t know it. My company, ID Watchdog, has released a single-use identity theft product (called idCheck) that aims to help consumers identify pre-existing identity theft. The product, the first of its kind, is going to be sold at retail locations nationwide, and distributed as a stored-value card (like the iTunes gift card – its pretty cool). The release has been getting some local news coverage in our hometown, Denver. Here’s a link to the local Fox affiliate’s story from last week (story + 2-minute video footage from the broadcast) so you can check it out for yourself: http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-idcheck-051210,0,928549.story In my mind, the story here is removing the barriers consumers often cite to actively participating in the protection of their identity – the price point (single use, under $10, no further commitment or subscription required); distribution (stored value card, wide availability at national big-box, grocery chain, drug store and convenience store chains beginning next week); and utility (helps consumers identify potential pre-existing identity theft, by answering a simple question: are you a victim now, yes or no?). If consumers do find a problem, ID Watchdog has an in-house resolution team that does all the work to restore their identity. Consumers can find idCheck at BJ’s wholesale clubs starting Monday. Over the summer, they’ll be available at Winn Dixie, 7-Eleven, Radio Shack, Best Buy, and other retailers. Or they can go to www.idwatchdog.com or www.idcheck.net now and complete their idCheck.
